Ben Fosker
Ben’s traditional English slipware reconnects with the magical enchantment he experienced as a child in a small, old fashioned Essex maritime village.
The characters and surroundings of Ben’s childhood seemed to him full of magic and enchantment; this influence on his traditional slipware is both contemporary and inter-textual, using many references.
“My intention is a poetic interaction with the materials, a conversation with clay. Where is it going? I have no idea, following a trial of rational isn’t necessarily rational. Most people say it makes them smile and I like that.”
